Prof. (Col.) Dr. Bipin Walia

Prof. (Col.) Dr. Bipin Walia is a neurosurgeon with more than 29 years of experience, currently serving as Chairman and Head of Neurosurgery & Neurospine at Max Healthcare. He completed his MBBS and MS in General Surgery from the Armed Forces Medical College, Pune, and his MCh in Neurosurgery from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi.

He is a recognised postgraduate teacher for the National Board of Examinations in MS (General Surgery) for the Universities of Delhi and Pune, and for DNB in Neurosurgery. He has extensive experience in motion-preserving spine surgery, including disc replacement surgery.

His areas of focus include image-guided surgery, disc replacement and endoscopic disc surgery, endoscopic cranial surgery and brain tumour surgery, with a special focus on minimally invasive surgery for spinal tumours.

Dr Walia is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS), and the North American Association of Spinal Surgeons. He is a Fellow of the Asian Congress of Neurological Surgeons (FACNS), an Executive Committee member of AO Spine India, and part of the faculty of the Spinal Science Advancement Foundation and Musculo-Skeletal Research Institute.
